 Hungry Like the Wolf [Damon]
« Thread Started on May 8, 2008, 11:24am »

Ashley Marcus SinClair, was, in a word, STARVING! He had been waiting all morning for his favorite period of the day. That would be lunch. He loved food. In this way he was your average teenage boy. But nearly everything else about the young blonde was not average. He was rather small for a man, only five foot, four. His eyes were rather large and the same deep grey-blue that his cousin's were. He dressed in expensive fashion. Snug jeans, a dark button up shirt with an embroidered phoenix on the back, and his trusty Fedora. The hat sat a top his head giving him a mysterious air. That was what he had been going for when he bought the hat.

At this particular moment he had a lunch tray set out in front of him. He sat beneath a huge oak. He had seen bigger in England, but in America, where everything seemed to be super sized, the trees seemed minuscule. He sighed and leaned against the trunk, eating the mystery meat of the day with out qualms. You would think that, in a high class school such as this, they would make high class food. No, the menu ended up being hamburgers, French fries, and god only knew what else. Ashely did not mind. Food was food and nothing more.

The young man sat Indian style with one hand on his ankles, the other holding the floppy burger. While chewing he had a thoughtful expression on his handsome face. What was he thinking about? It was something a long the lines of this...

Hmmm.... I wonder where that bird's going. Ah, what do ya know, it has babies. So cute.... and damn noisy. Hey look, a squirrel. I wonder if it's friendly. Aww... it's gone. Hey, the sky's a really pretty blue today. I wonder if the camera would capture that. Probably not. Color photography seems to be unable to capture the true essence of a color. What do ya know, that cloud looks like a spoon. Speaking of spoons, I wonder if Evie will play with me. Probably not. She hates card games. She hates everything in general. It's a wonder I'm still alive. There goes that bloody bird again...

As one could see his thoughts weren't particularly articulate or deep. In fact, his attention span was so minuscule that his thought process tended to change like that on a momentary basis. One moment he could be thinking about food, the next he could be wondering how many times a fly will flap it's wings in a life time.

The lithe boy let his blue gaze look over the courtyard. He trembled slightly, everyone seemed so different compared to him. He bit his lip as he held the lunch tray with quivering hands. What on earth was Timothy thinking anyway? He wasn't sure that he could understand much.

Actually he was positive he couldn't. Even on the way up here he had asked so many times what certain things were. The boy bit his lip and looked out over the courtyard once again. He could see a blond boy off in the distance and decided to chance sitting with him.

As the boy walked, he smiled softly to himself. He loved picking out what to wear! He had never been allowed to have such freedom before and plus the clothing he was wearing today was much more comfortable than the clothing he was forced to wear at home. The boy walked cautiously so nothing would fall from the tray.

He stopped in front of the blond, keeping his distance a bit, "c-could I s-sit with you?" he spoke timidly, looking down. Raven hair fell into his face a bit and he swallowed hard, feeling anxious. He wasn't used to children his own age... at all.

Ashely looked up when he heard a boy's voice from above. Ashley wasn't particularly fond of being shorter than other people. But as it was, he was just damn short. It probably didn't help that he was sitting in the grass while that cutie was standing above him. "Knock yourself out, love." Then, grinning widely, flashing white teeth he said, "Not literally though." He laughed a little to himself. He settled his tray closer to his feet in order to make room for the other male.

Large, grey-blue eyes studied Damon's frame. He was thin, almost wispy. His hair was so soft looking that Ashley wanted to reach out and touch it. He looked so scared and timid that the freshman couldn't help but to want to hug the kid. Cute was the only word that could describe the taller male.

"I'm Ashley." He said, brushing his messy blonde hair from his eyes. Now that he was looking, the mere slimness of Damon's body made him think of his cousin, Evie. Evie was so skinny, but she was tiny too. She was even shorter than he was. But where the boy had a slightly healthier look to his slimness, Evie looked more like she starved herself. That was mostly because his cousin did. Not intentionally though. His cousin was just so forgetful that she even forgets to eat.

"So.... How are you liking the school? I just arrived here last week." From where should have been pretty obvious from his accent. It lilted along with his voice, causing the oh so desired sound that so many young women craved. Really, what was it about a British accent that people found sexy? Ashley didn't really know. He thought American's sounded infinitely more delicious, but then, that could have been due to the fact that he spent most of his time in the U.K.

The boy gently sank to the ground near the blond. He let his eyes look over him, he was very attractive. Damon wasn't really used to attractive people, Timothy wasn't too bad but he was older, Leon was okay but Rex was hideous. "Thank you so much Ashley," the innocent spoke gratefully. "My name is Damon," his voice was barely above a whisper.

He looked down to the food that he was supposed to eat, they gave him so much! Timothy would have never allowed him to eat so much. He smiled softly, he wished he could eat that much but his body had grown so used to the small portions that they gave him so it was really hard for him to eat a lot.

He took a bite gracefully and looked back to the attractive boy, he chewed and swallowed before speaking again, "I like... I guess. I mean it's really kind of scary. I've never been outside of my house before. I just got here a day or two ago."

The raven haired boy wondered why he talked the way he did... he liked it a lot but he simply didn't understand. He placed the lunch tray before him and continued to eat gracefully like a good boy. Timothy wouldn't have had it any other way.

He smiled softly to the Ashley.

He ate with so much politeness that he seemed much more high class then even the Queen of England. He had only ever seen one other person eat like that, and that was Evie, when that girl remembered. But he was able to bring his thoughts back from his bitch cousin knowing that he had to reply to the shy, cutie before him.

Ashley grinned. "That's great. Don't need to be afraid though, love. This place may seem huge and there may be a lot of people, but it's really not that bad. I've been to much bigger places and I've had to deal with a lot of nasty people. But all you really have to do is just smile and reply with as much cold civility as you can muster. If you remain polite, but cold, people will back off. It makes them think you're hiding something about yourself. Of course, If someone's picking on you, just say you're real close to a SinClair."

Ashley took another large bite from his rapidly diminishing burger. He carefully studied the young man. Damon, he had said. Damon was such a grown up name for such a cute, sweet, shy, boy. Ashley leaned against the tree. "That would be me. You see, the moment people know that I'm a Sinclair they sort of freak out. That would be due to my cousin. She's just a horrible person. But, around family, she's nice enough and even smiles. Personally, I just think she's just so shy that she ends up giving people the wrong impression. She's a strong woman... But she just doesn't like strangers." Ashley shrugged. "She'd like you though. She has a soft spot for the innocent. Especially if you act like that." He laughed lightly.

He stretched, then set his empty wrapper on the tray. He leaned forward, his elbows resting against his thighs, and his chin resting on his upraised hands. "So, Damon, what's your artist talent?" he asked. "I'm a photographer, but I also study modeling. Modeling became my major when my mother accidentally wrote it int he wrong slot. But I much prefer to be behind the camera, You know the one taking the picture. You've got such a great face. You'd be a fantastic model! Could I take picture of you sometime?"

Ashley had been like this since he was very small. He could out talk even the fastest auctioneer, not that the lad ever had a chance to meet one. But Ashley did talk a lot, though perhaps not as fast as an actual auctioneer. He seemed to hardly require an answer for all of his questions.
