Quote:Skylar wasn't sure whether or not she liked it away from the boys. Sure, she loved her brothers, and she certainly loved to spend time with Noah, but sometimes too much was too much. Then, they were some of her only friends. Sure, a few girls in her dance class were nice to her, but Sky wasn't sure if she could call them friends or not. She'd never had a sleepover with any of them, and they never seemed to see each other outside of that one class. Maybe she could get to know them better when summer was over. That had to be it. No one in their right mind left their house in the summer unless they had a job or a date or something like that. Why leave the air conditioning without a good reason? Skylar was usually in her right mind, like she was today, but sometimes she just liked to go outside and escape the pressing walls around her. Not like the Greene family lived in a cramped shack, though. Their home was open, airy, and welcoming, but walls were walls, no matter how far apart they were. Of course, that would mean the entire town, county, state, country, continent, and even world were in their own boundaries. So really there was no escaping, not really. Well, maybe the astronauts did, but not permanantly. Eventually the spacemen or women had to return to Earth.
It was a wonderful day outside, except for the August heat waves. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, the air was clear. It wasn't really humid, either. Just hot. Really hot. Skylar noticed that there wasn't another person walking outside, either. There were a few traveling in cars though, still equipped with air conditioning to escape the outdoors. Ah, well. Fall was right around the corner anyway, and that meant cooler weather and a lot more color added to everything. Summer's greens and yellows were alright, but nothing compared to autumn's dazzling reds and oranges and golds and even browns. Or at least to Skylar. Most people thought she would prefer spring over everything, what with its bold pinks and yellows and blues and greens and oranges, but fall just seemed more serene. Despite her personality, Skylar did like to feel laid back sometimes.
What in the world was she doing outside? Well, she wasn't outside anymore. Finally the blonde girl reached her destination, which was the supermarket. The sliding automatic doors moved whenever she approached and a rush of cool air hit her face, making her grin. Heading over to where the handheld baskets were neatly stacked, Skylar plucked one up. She wasn't here to get much. Just a few snack foods since their pantry was dangerously low. All three of the Greene children had a nasty addiction to things unhealthy for them, and yet none of them showed it on their bodies. Alex was just naturally thin (or maybe his music blasted any trace of fat off of him?), Skylar danced almost all the time, and Peyton was just a little ball of ADD energy. It was no wonder he was slender.
Striding down the aisles, Skylar looked at the signs at the end of each row of shelves at what was in them. She wasn't seeing anything about chips, cookies, candies, or anything else that was delicious in that sense. She didn't really know where they were either, as it was usually Alex that came for this stuff. Strangely enough, Skylar had no idea where her older brother had gotten off to today. Maybe he was off doing some other errand. He couldn't really be up to anything else. Skylar hated to think it, but Alex had almost no social life to speak of. As far as Sky knew, he'd never had a girlfriend, or a job, or even a social group to hang out in. She could blame that on the fact that most of his life had been spent moving all around wherever their parent's work had taken them. She could also blame it on his own lack of wanting to do anything about it. All he ever seemed to want to do was listen to music in his room. And eat marshmallows. Forever was that boy eating marshmallows, no matter what he was doing. Unless he was driving or talking to someone.
Speaking of those, a whole section of the white fluffy things presented itself to Skylar. Grinning, she grabbed a couple of bags of them, one full of the huge ones and another packed with the mini 'mallows. Then, looking further down the aisle, she was delighted to discover all the things that she and her brothers devoured constantly. Sour Patch Kids, Smarties, Dum-Dum pops, Oreo Cakesters and many many more were right there in front of her. Her grin widening, Skylar was sure her sweet tooth was showing. Soon her shopping basket was full and almost overflowing. Oops, maybe a bit too much. It wasn't her money she was spending though. Her mother knew Skylar was going to the store and had given her enough money to satisfy the obvious craving for snacks. At least she--or Alex--wouldn't have to come back for at least a week.
Skylar, however, couldn't manage doing anything before the klutz inside her could take over. All too soon, when she wasn't paying attention to where she was going, Sky's foot found the end of a wheeled shopping cart and sent her sprawling across the tiled floor of the supermarket. Great. It wasn't that the girl wasn't used to doing this on a daily basis, but normally she didn't have a bunch of things falling down with her. Boxes and bags and other packages skidded out across the floor as well. Sighing, Skylar picked herself quickly off of the ground and began collecting her things as well. She knew the person with the wheeled cart had noticed but hopefully no one else had. Not that it would bother Skylar but it still was a bit weird to be the center of attention. |

Piercings: None Tattoos: None Height: 5'5" Weight: 112 Hair Colour: Reddish-Brown Eye Colour: Brown Style: As far as her clothing goes, Alena is rather laid back and easy to dress. In front of her peers or when she's trying to look like she's a step above casual, her choice of attire is usually a nice, plain polo shirt or a soft plaid button down one. Her pants are usually blue jeans, kept in top shape so they never seem worn out. And on her feet? A pair of Converse, looking like they just came from the store. The only thing missing is the price tag. After school hours, however, Miss Dahl has a different approach. Usually she can be found wearing pajama pants and a normal, one-size-too-big t-shirt, or just a pair of raggedy old jeans, worn through in the knees and under her heels, where her less than top condition, beaten up old sneakers or her true favorite Converse have trampled them continously over time. She definitely prefers the second of her two looks, since Alena loves nothing more than to kick back and just relax out of student mode. PB: Anne-Marie Van Dijk

All These Things That I've Done;;

History: Oh, the typical-ness. Alena's parents couldn't have been more unlikely of a couple if they'd tried. Enter one slightly dorky photography student and one rather pretty, somewhat wealthy model? A chance meeting that apparently isn't just for the story books. Not that it wasn't just for the story books in the first place. Actually, it would be a lie to call the two unique.
When Katrina and Alexander met, they weren't really sure of each other. Alex was expecting a snob, like the stereotype depicted. The beautiful girls were always mean. Katrina, on the other hand, was expecting a dorky, clumsy, awkward kid who hid constantly behind his camera, his castle, his only defense. The only reason either of them ended up in the same room was because Katrina's original photographer called sick that day. That left the senior boy to cover the junior girl. Which, he didn't mind. Originally he intended just to have her smile pretty for the camera then leave.
Not so simple.
It turned out that Katrina couldn't drive. She normally hitched a ride with her neighbor, but they had forgotten that she needed to stay after school that day. So, being the nice kid he was, Alexander offered the girl a ride. she accepted, grateful, and somewhere during the thirty minute car ride, the two clicked. Both were in love with nature and animals, and that seemed to really be their common point. And, of course, the modeling / photograpy thing, as well.
A friendship, and eventually something more, blossomed.
Over the next year, one could hardly be seen without the other. Sometimes they would just sit on a front porch and talk. Other times they would be out in a forest near their New Hampshire home, either looking at nature or snapping endless pictures of it. Once, Katrina even dressed up and posed amongst the trees.
After the summer was at its end, Alexander was off to college, leaving Katrina behind. The two were seperated for four long years, neither thinking they would see the other again. Until once again, Alexander was called up to photograph a young woman named Katrina Farrn. Alex could not believe it. Neither, apparently, could Katrina. It was totally luck, and, just like in high school, the two became inseperable again, only permanantly this time. A year later wedding bells were ringing, and their first child of six was on her way to the world.
Alena Carson Dahl was born on a blustery September day, September seventh to be exact. The little girl was happy and healthy, and acted just like any other toddler would. This only changed when Hana, her oldest younger sibling, was brought into the world. Alena and Hana were both the type to crave attention at that age, and so their competitiveness burned bright for a long while. Even when Connor, her only brother was born, Alena's dislike for Hana's existence grew.
This all changed when the other half of the family joined them.
No one was expecting triplet girls. The day all three of them came home was the day the older trio made a truce. Their full jealousy was focused on the newborns, no longer on each other.
At about this time, Alena found a joy in dancing. She loved how she could just let herself go, be free for a bit. Not completely, obviously, but her spirit seemed to lift out of her body when she danced. Ballet turned out to be her favorite of them all. Alena wasn't quite sure why. It just happened that way. She was exceptionally talented there as well, and, for ballet, moved up into a class full of older girls.
Years passed. One day, checking the mail, Alena noticed there was an envelope for her. The scary part was that the envelope was rather nice, a slightly different material and color that a simple, standard one would have. Carefullly, her fingers nudged open the flap and withdrew a paper, explaining that they had recogized her own and her parents' talent as well, and would she accept the invitiation to their special school for the arts?
Why, of course she would! And her parents most definitely encouraged her to. Needless to say, so did her siblings. Hana even offered to help her pack.
And so, starting a new school year in a brand new place, is Alena Carson Dahl. Hopefully her talent can pull her through.
Other: You're probably wondering what's with the strange animals. Well, as mentioned, both of Alena's parents have a passion for wildlife and nature. So, Alexander obtained a license to care for exotic animals, then return them to their habitat.
